The political landscape of Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency is witnessing a notable shift as the consensus candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji, popularly known as KSA, continues to consolidate support at the grassroots level.

In a significant development at Agbaje in the Ijokodo area of Ido Local Government, several members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have formally defected to the PDP, openly declaring their support for KSA ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

The defectors attributed their decision to what they described as KSA’s people-centered leadership style, accessibility, and consistent engagement with communities across the constituency. According to them, his vision for inclusive and responsive representation resonates strongly with the aspirations of the people.

The defection event attracted a large turnout of party faithfuls, community stakeholders, and enthusiastic supporters, creating an atmosphere charged with optimism and renewed political energy. Various groups present at the gathering seized the opportunity to publicly affirm their support for KSA, pledging to mobilize voters and work collectively towards ensuring the PDP’s victory.

Leaders of the defecting ADC members, while addressing the crowd, expressed strong confidence in KSA’s capacity to deliver effective and impactful representation. They noted that his growing connection with the grassroots and his track record of engagement distinguish him as a credible and dependable choice for the constituency.

Beyond the wave of defections, several community-based groups and political support structures also declared their endorsement of KSA’s candidacy. They emphasized the urgent need for leadership that is deeply rooted in the realities of the people and committed to advancing their welfare and development.

Political observers view these developments as a clear indication of the rising momentum behind KSA’s campaign, driven largely by sustained grassroots mobilization and a unifying message centered on trust, inclusion, and service.

As the 2027 elections gradually come into focus, the increasing wave of defections and endorsements is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the political dynamics of Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, positioning the PDP and its candidate as strong contenders in the race.
