The Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, has commissioned the newly remodelled and renamed Tamunominini Multipurpose Hall at the SDP premises, Gbagi.

The ceremony was headlined by the First Lady of Oyo State, Her Excellency, Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, who performed the official commissioning. The facility, formerly an underutilized space, has been transformed into a modern hub for social engagement, official programs, and the solemnization of marriages.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Sanda Sikiru Oyedele, who also chairs the Forum of Local Government Chairmen in Oyo State, stated that the project is a symbol of his administration’s “unwavering commitment” to the people of Egbeda. “Our goal is to create functional spaces that drive sustainable grassroots development and improve the living standards of our residents,” Oyedele remarked.

In her address, Her Excellency Mrs. Makinde praised the council’s leadership for prioritizing projects with direct social impact. She emphasized that providing a dignified environment for family-oriented services, such as marriage ceremonies, is essential for building stable and healthy communities.

Beyond infrastructure, the event marked a major healthcare milestone as 250 residents were officially enrolled into the Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA) scheme. This initiative, championed by the First Lady, ensures that the elderly and less privileged in Egbeda can access quality medical care, including treatment for hypertension and diabetes, at subsidized rates.

The dual intervention underscores the Egbeda Local Government’s holistic approach to governance building the structures that house the community while protecting the health of the people who live within it.
