Hon. Oyebamiji Joshua, popularly known as Atiku, has proven by his actions that he is not fit to occupy the office of Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman. His conduct in recent times stands as a clear betrayal of the trust reposed in him by party members and stakeholders across the district.
Atiku openly participated in and presided over what was nothing more than a staged and deceptive Oyo Central Senatorial Stakeholders’ meeting. Rather than serve as a forum for unity and genuine consultation, the gathering was deliberately turned into a one man campaign platform for Senator Yunus Akintunde. From start to finish, the so called meeting was a sham, carefully scripted to push a single political agenda while silencing other voices. This was a clear abuse of office and a deliberate attempt to mislead party members.
More troubling is Atiku’s open sabotage of the Renewed Hope Unity Tour, an initiative designed to heal divisions and strengthen the party in Oyo State. Instead of respecting its directives and ideology, he publicly aligned himself with Senator Yunus Akintunde, plotting and positioning against the very spirit of unity the tour represents. His actions were not hidden. They were bold, calculated, and intended to undermine the collective efforts of the party.
Hon. Oyebamiji Joshua has consistently shown that he operates as a political jobber, driven by personal and financial interests rather than loyalty to the party or the people of Oyo Central. Time after time, he has placed self above the collective good, trading party unity for private benefits.
The office of Senatorial Chairman demands fairness, neutrality, and commitment to all stakeholders. Atiku has failed on all counts. He has turned the position into a tool for political manipulation, deepened divisions within the party, and weakened the structures meant to foster cohesion.
By organizing a fake stakeholders’ meeting, openly campaigning for one aspirant under the guise of party leadership, and working against a major unity initiative, Hon. Oyebamiji Joshua has indicted himself.
Party members across Oyo Central are now left with one conclusion: Atiku no longer deserves to hold the office of Senatorial Chairman. His continued stay poses a serious threat to party unity, credibility, and progress in Oyo State.
