Chief Olamoyegun Sulaiman Adeyemo, the Chief Executive Officer of Lionway Groups and the Mogaji of Apete Agbarale Compound, Ibadan, has extended warm congratulations to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Arusa 1, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

Describing the development as historic, Adeyemo said the ascension of the Olubadan to the chairmanship of the revered council is a fitting recognition of his decades of selfless service, sterling leadership, and unwavering commitment to the preservation of Yoruba culture and traditions.

According to him, the Olubadan’s elevation reflects the deep-rooted values of wisdom, patience, and integrity that define traditional leadership in Ibadanland and Yorubaland at large.

The Mogaji noted that Olubadan’s vast experience in traditional governance and community leadership places him in a strong position to provide purposeful direction for the Council of Obas and Chiefs.

He expressed confidence that Olubadan’s tenure would further strengthen unity among traditional rulers in Oyo State and enhance the relevance of traditional institutions in contemporary governance.

Adeyemo also commended the Oyo State Government for upholding tradition and respecting the rotational leadership arrangement within the Council of Obas and Chiefs.

He described the seamless process that led to the emergence of the Olubadan as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to due process, inclusiveness, and respect for age-long customs.

The Lionway Group CEO said such adherence to tradition promotes stability, mutual respect, and harmony among royal fathers across the state.

He added that the council, under the chairmanship of the Olubadan, is well-positioned to serve as a strong advisory body to the government on issues of culture, security, and grassroots development.

Adeyemo emphasized that traditional rulers remain critical stakeholders in peacebuilding and community mobilization, particularly at the grassroots level.

He therefore urged members of the council to continue working collectively to support policies and initiatives that promote the socio-economic development of Oyo State.

The Apete Mogaji concluded by praying for divine guidance, sound health, and renewed wisdom for Olubadan as he assumed the responsibility of leading the revered council.

He expressed optimism that the Olubadan’s chairmanship would usher in a new era of harmony, progress, and strengthen traditional leadership across Oyo State.
