The year 2025 has been a defining period for Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), the member of House of Representatives, representing Ibadan South-East/North-East Federal Constituency, as his leadership continued to translate into tangible gains for his constituents and sustained relevance on the national stage.

There is no doubt that, throughout the year, Agboworin remained consistent with his people-first philosophy, anchoring his representation on effective legislation, responsive constituency service, and strategic engagement with critical stakeholders.

His approach reinforced his reputation as a grassroots politician who understands local needs while navigating national responsibilities with clarity and purpose.

One of the standout features of Agboworin’s 2025 scorecard was his intensified focus on human capital development. Across the constituency, he focused more on empowerment initiatives targeted at youths and women, which gained renewed momentum. These programmes, which included skills acquisition, small business support, and capacity-building workshops, were designed to reduce unemployment and strengthen household incomes.

Beneficiaries in the constituency and beyond have repeatedly acknowledged the practical impact of these interventions on their livelihoods. They would never forget in a jiffy how the interventions have helped their families. They keep praying for him.

First of all, in the area of education, the lawmaker sustained advocacy for improved learning environments and access to opportunities for young people. Support for students through scholarships, learning materials, and engagement with school authorities underscored his belief that education remains a critical pathway to long-term development. He is a man who so much believe in education.

Agboworin also recorded visible progress in constituency outreach and inclusion, undoubtedly. You cannot also take away the aspect of regular consultations with community leaders, party stakeholders, and professional groups from his activities, ensuring that governance remained participatory. These engagements not only helped in identifying pressing community needs but also fostered unity and shared responsibility for development within Ibadan South-East and North-East.

At the National Assembly, 2025 saw Agboworin maintaining an active legislative presence. He contributed meaningfully to debates on issues of national importance, particularly those touching on social welfare, economic inclusion, and democratic accountability. Some of them include a bill titled: ‘National Drug Law Enforcement Act (Amendment) Bill 2024’, seeking life imprisonment for drug traffickers; a motion on the need to ban the sales of alcohol and psychoactive drugs in and around Motor parks in Nigeria; a motion on the need to immortalize Chief Taiwo Akinkunmi, the designer of the Nigeria National Flag; a motion seeking FG’s intervention to investigate conditional cash transfer to vulnerable Nigerians and a host of others. His interventions reflected a balance between party loyalty and principled representation of his constituents’ interests.

Beyond projects and policies, observers note that Agboworin’s strength in 2025 lay in political bridge-building. His ability to work across divides, promote internal party cohesion, and support reconciliation efforts positioned him as a stabilising force within his political environment—an attribute widely regarded as crucial ahead of future electoral cycles.

As the year draws to a close, many constituents view 2025 as another solid chapter in Agboworin’s ongoing commitment to service. While challenges remain, his achievements over the year have reinforced public confidence in purposeful representation and have set a foundation for even greater impact in the years ahead.
