Properties, goods, materials, and equipment worth millions of naira have been destroyed by a fire that ravaged six shops in the Ogbomoso axis of Oyo State.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Thursday, 31st July 2025, at Ile-Ewe, Sawmill Area, Ogbomoso.

No casualty was recorded as fire razed six shops out of ten (10).

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the incident in our correspondence.

He said, “Today, Thursday, 31st July 2025, at exactly 14:08 hours, Mr David Ajagbe( a running caller) came to our station to report a fire incident at the above address.

The Agency’s personnel, led by CFS Dairo, promptly left for the scene and arrived at 14.14hrs.

“On getting to the scene, we met six(6) out of ten (10) locked-up shops well alight and quickly engaged our appliance, and we were able to curtail the fire from spreading to other shops and nearby properties.

Properties worth millions of naira were affected by fire, and the fire service was able to save millions of properties.

No casualty was recorded; the post-fire investigation will ascertain the root cause of the fire incident.
