The executive chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has congratulated people living in his council area, especially Christians, on the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging them to emulate his virtues of humility, perseverance, and compassion.

Easter Sunday marks the end of the Lenten season and celebrates the defeat of death and the hope of salvation.

Adeojo, in his message to Christians, said Easter is very significant because it is an annual event marking the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

He urged Christians and adherents of other faiths to emulate the sacrifice and selflessness of Jesus Christ in their daily lives.

According to Adeojo, ” Easter Sunday is a sacred holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after His crucifixion.

” Easter is characterized by a spirit of gladness and joy as, in his resurrection. It is the holiday that represents Jesus Christ’s victory over death, which is then bestowed upon those who believe in Him.

” It is the fulfillment of a promise captured in the biblical passage, John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

As Christians, this period offers us an opportunity to rethink our relationships as individuals and
communities. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ typify love, affection,, and tolerance.

I urge us all to emulate the virtue of Jesus Christ by positively impacting the lives of family, relatives, friends, and neighbors.” Adeojo said
