The Supervisory Councilor for Works in Ido local government areas of Oyo State, Hon. Adedamola Olajide (a.k.a Elegant), has unveiled the “Elegant Football Club,” in a groundbreaking ceremony to mark the commencement of the Elenushosho Community Championship Tournament.
The tournament showcases the official unveiling of the Adedamola Tolulope Olajide football team, Elegant FC of Elenushosho, which aims to promote grassroots football and foster community spirit among the youth.
However, the competition is scheduled to consist of 16 teams, mainly from Ibadan City, with the final scheduled for December 2024. The winning team will receive a cash prize and a trophy, while the runners-up and third-place teams will also receive awards.
According to the organizer of the events, Elenushosho Community praised God almighty for his privilege to make long-awaited dreams become a reality, stressing that Elegant FC of Elenushosho has all that it takes a football team, and they’re happy to unveil it to the entire world.

He lauded the executive Chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, for his good sportsmanship, spirit, support, and giving the necessary backing for this initiative to become a reality.
“Without his staunch backing, it would have been an exercise in futility. Thank you for the good governance mantra at the grassroots level, bringing Ido to the front burner in all sectors of development,” he said.
Elegant also commended the Nigeria Football Coaches Association grassroots NFCA, Mr. Wahab Oloke Taiwo, state financial secretary, Coach Akinola Olatunji (Oyo State Coaches Chairman), Coach Segun, Odugbelado (Coach, Ido LG), Coach Ifaleti Tunde, the assistant coaches chairman ido local government and several others.
Also, the NFCA, Mr. Wahab Oloke, stated that we are excited to see the talented teams compete and wish everyone involved in the tournament the very best. Let’s come together to make this tournament a success and create unforgettable memories for all involved.
The unveiling ceremony and ground Kicks have attracted a lot of attention from the local community, with many residents turning out to support their favorite teams.
Highlights of the unveiling ceremony were attended by dignitaries, football enthusiasts, and the Sixteen teams participating in the tournament.
