
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has formally confirmed Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji (KSA) as its candidate for the Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency following a hitch-free and participatory primary process that drew wide commendation from party stakeholders and grassroots leaders.
The selection exercise, which was attended by party leaders, delegates, faithfuls, and supporters across the constituency, culminated in the unanimous endorsement of Engr. Adedeji as the party’s standard bearer for the forthcoming House of Representatives election. Stakeholders described the outcome as a clear reflection of confidence in his leadership capacity, proven grassroots connection, and unwavering commitment to the development of Ido and Ibarapa East.
In his acceptance remarks, Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde FNSE, the leadership of APM, party delegates, and loyal supporters for their steadfast encouragement and support throughout the process. He described the mandate as a sacred trust and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him through diligent service, visionary leadership, and tireless advocacy for the progress, unity, and welfare of all constituents.
“The trust you have placed in me is a responsibility I do not take lightly. I am humbled by your confidence and I pledge to work relentlessly to ensure that Ido/Ibarapa East receives the quality representation it deserves in the National Assembly. My mission is to advance policies that will improve livelihoods, expand opportunities for our youth, and strengthen the social and economic fabric of our communities,” Engr. Adedeji stated.
The APM candidate assured constituents of inclusive representation that prioritizes the interests of every community, irrespective of political, religious, or ethnic affiliation. He emphasized that his legislative agenda will be anchored on people-oriented policies, transparency, accountability, and active engagement with the grassroots.
Engr. Adedeji outlined key areas of focus that will guide his service if elected. These include quality education and skills development for youths, improved access to healthcare, modernization of agriculture, rural infrastructure development, and empowerment programs for women and small-scale entrepreneurs. He noted that effective legislation must translate into tangible benefits for families and communities.
On the political front, the candidate called on all members and supporters of APM in Ido/Ibarapa East to remain united, disciplined, and focused as the party approaches the general elections. He stressed that unity within the party and across party lines is critical to mobilizing collective strength for the task of constituency development.
“Elections are won not just by candidates, but by united people with a shared vision. I urge all party members and supporters to set aside differences and work together as one family. Together, we can build an Ido/Ibarapa East that is peaceful, prosperous, and respected,” he added.
Party leaders present at the event commended the transparency of the primary process and expressed optimism that Engr. Kolawole Sheu Adedeji’s emergence would reposition APM for a competitive showing in the constituency. They described him as a tested technocrat with the capacity to bridge the gap between government and the people through purposeful representation.
