
Barr. Nurudeen Temilolu Ashamu, popularly known as Seun TNA, has emerged as the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) for the Afijio/Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba Federal Constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections. That is the Oyo Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat.
Ashamu secured the party’s ticket following the successful conduct of the party’s primary congress held within the Federal Constituency on 28 May 2026. Security Agencies and INEC representatives were present at the primaries.
The primary exercise, which was described by party stakeholders as peaceful, transparent and well-coordinated, witnessed the participation of party members and supporters across the constituency.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, Ashamu expressed appreciation to God, Gov. Seyi Makinde, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, and the leadership and members of the APM for the confidence reposed in him, assuring constituents of purposeful representation and people-oriented leadership if elected in the 2027 general elections.
He pledged to champion policies and programmes that would promote jobs and economic empowerment, youth development, greater opportunities, grassroots projects, and a stronger voice for the welfare of the people of the constituency.
Ashamu also called on party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the collective goal of strengthening the APM ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Political observers described his emergence as a significant development in the political landscape of Oyo Federal Constituency, noting his growing popularity and grassroots support within the constituency.
The Allied Peoples Movement has continued to intensify preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections as political activities gather momentum across Oyo State.
