Following his emergence as the gubernatorial candidate of the Accord Party in Oyo State, Hon. Busari Olakunle Moruf, popularly known as “Goodugoodu,” has expressed profound appreciation to party faithful, stakeholders, and institutions that contributed to the successful conduct of the party’s gubernatorial primary election.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Goodugoodu described his victory at the primary election as a collective triumph for democracy, unity, and the progressive aspirations of members of the Accord Party across Oyo State.

He extended heartfelt gratitude to the national leadership of the Accord Party, the state executive members, local government leaders, ward coordinators, delegates, youths, women groups, and all party supporters for the confidence reposed in his candidacy.

According to him, the overwhelming support and solidarity received before, during, and after the primary election remain a strong source of encouragement and motivation toward building a more prosperous and people-oriented Oyo State.

“I sincerely appreciate the National Leadership of our great party, the State Executive Council, local government and ward leaders, delegates, party faithful, and supporters across the state for standing firmly by me throughout the primary process. This victory belongs to all lovers of progress and genuine development,” he stated.

Goodugoodu also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its monitoring role and commitment to democratic standards during the exercise.

He further lauded security agencies for maintaining professionalism, peace, and orderliness throughout the conduct of the primary election, noting that their efforts contributed significantly to the credibility and success of the process.

The Accord gubernatorial candidate reaffirmed his commitment to inclusiveness, unity, and the advancement of the party ahead of the forthcoming general election, while calling on all members to remain steadfast and work collectively for the overall success of the party.

He emphasized the need for unity among party members, stressing that the primary election has come and gone and that the task ahead requires collective commitment, reconciliation, and cooperation among all stakeholders.

“As we move forward, I urge every member of our great party to remain united and focused. Together, we shall build a stronger Accord Party and offer the people of Oyo State a credible, purposeful, and people-driven leadership,” Goodugoodu added.
