Properties worth millions of naira were engulfed by an inferno in different locations in Ibadan and Oyo township respectively.
Heritage Echo gathered that inferno engulfed an ancient residential building on Saturday at Agunbiade House, Onimo Compound, Yemetu, Alawada, Ibadan, Òyó State.
The fire incident was as a result of electrical sparks from faulty wiring system ignited to nearby combustible materials and set the building ablaze.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.
He said, the firemen led by ACFS Oyeniyi was deployed to the scene of the incident and it was discovered to be an ancient residential building of Six (6) rooms, well alighted and discovered with thick smoke.
He said, no life was lost.
Also, the State fire service responded to a distress call to a house engulfed by fire at House 1, Road 301, Agodi GRA, Ibadan.
The fire incident was as a result of improper disposal of leftover naked fire. The fire service was able to save properties worth millions of naira.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed that the firemen led by ACFS Bamidele was deployed to the scene of the incident.
He said the officer quickly launched a coordinated attack and restricted the fire from spreading to the main building and properties.
Furthermore, attention if the State fire service was called to the two (2) out of a roll of thirteen prefabricated shops engulfed by flames and thick smoke.
The incident occurred at Faruk road, opposite Sudit Oil company, Sola, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Firemen led by ACFS Bamidele swiftly mobilized and deployed to the scene of the incident.
He said, upon arrival, it was a two (2) out of a roll of thirteen prefabricated shops engulfed by flames and thick smokes.
Properties worth millions of naira were saved, no life was lost as the officer quickly launched a coordinated attack and restricted fire from spreading to the other nearby shops.
More over, Oyo State firemen extinguished a Generator House on fire at opposite NISER, University of Ibadan-Ojoo road, Ibadan.
Firemen led by ACFS Oyeniyi swiftly mobilized and deployed to the scene of the incident.
Akinwande said, upon arrival, a generator house of the hotel building well alighted and covered with thick smoke.
The fire incident was as a result of election sparks from the control switch panel and ignited to the nearby combustible materials and set the generator on fire.
Firemen were able to save properties worth millions of naira and no life was lost.
Equally, Oyo State firemen attended to fire incident at Oluokun’s house, besides Similolu Chemist, Old Cele area, Oyo.
The firemen led by FO II Adepoju Muideen, promptly responded and deployed to the scene of the incident.
Akinwande said, upon arrival, it was two (2) rooms with the kitchen of a private residential building of Eight (8) rooms engulfed by flames and smoke-logged.
The fire crew quickly swung into action and the fire was restricted from spreading to the other rooms of the building.
No casualty was recorded and the fire incident was as a result of unattended cooking gas and ignited to the nearby combustible materials and set the building ablaze.
Resident applauded the state Governor Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for providing state-of-the-art equipment to the State fire service in response to emergencies.
Akinwande further urged the public to be conscious of fire every time and always watch the activities in the kitchen and home generally.
He also emphasized the importance of installing fire extinguisher in every building in order to prevent fire incidents at the incipient stage.
