A federal lawmaker, who represents Ibadan North East/ South East federal constituency of Oyo State, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), has formally resigned his membership of the party, citing the persistent internal crisis rocking the party.

In a resignation letter made available to journalists by his Media Group, on Thursday, Agboworin said the lingering and unresolved challenges within the PDP had continued to destabilize the party, forcing him to take the decision to quit.

The lawmaker noted that his time in the PDP provided him with the opportunity to build lasting political relationships and contribute meaningfully to the development of Oyo State.

He also expressed appreciation to the party leadership at the ward, local government, state and national levels for their support throughout his stay in the PDP.

Agboworin further thanked party members and supporters across his constituency for standing by him during his political journey in the party from 2018 till date.

Concluding, he stated that he remained grateful for the opportunities given to him to serve under the platform of the PDP.

Prince Oyetunde Saheed, the Chairman of PDP Ibadan South-East, Ward 8, formally received the resignation letter.

The statement read, “I wish to formally resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) following the persistent and unresolved internal crises that have continued to destabilize the party.

“I appreciate my time in the party as it has afforded me the opportunity to build lasting relationships and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our dear Oyo State.

“I wish to sincerely appreciate the leadership of the party at the ward, local government, state, and national levels, as well as members and supporters in my constituency, who stood by me throughout my political journey in the PDP from 2018 up to this moment.

“I remain grateful for the opportunities given to me to serve.

“Please accept my assurances of highest regards and kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter.”
