A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), who represents Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, has commended the constitution of the interim National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He described it as a bold and timely step toward repositioning the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists in Abuja, Agboworin said the move signals a renewed commitment by the party’s leadership to strengthen internal democracy, restore unity and rebuild confidence among members across the country.
The lawmaker noted that the composition of the interim NWC reflects inclusiveness and a deliberate effort to bring together experienced hands capable of steering the party through its current transition phase.
He expressed optimism that the newly constituted leadership would prioritize reconciliation among aggrieved members, deepen grassroots mobilization, and articulate policies that resonate with the aspirations of Nigerians.
“The constitution of the interim NWC is a clear demonstration that the PDP is ready to move forward with renewed vigor. It is an opportunity to correct past lapses and set the party on a path of unity, discipline, and electoral success,” Agboworin said.
“As we approach 2027, Nigerians are looking for leadership that understands their challenges and can provide practical solutions. The PDP must rise to that responsibility, and I believe this new leadership has what it takes to deliver,” he added.
He further urged party faithful to rally behind the interim leadership, stressing that collective support and cooperation are essential for the PDP to reclaim its position as a formidable political force in Nigeria.
The lawmaker, therefore, called on stakeholders at all levels to remain steadfast in their efforts to reposition the party for victory in future elections.
