The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, has extended warm felicitations to Christian faithful across his constituency and beyond on the occasion of Good Friday.
Oyekola, who represents Atiba State Constituency, described Good Friday as a solemn and significant moment in the Christian calendar, symbolising sacrifice, love, and humility as exemplified by the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
In a statement released on Friday, the two-term lawmaker urged Christians to reflect deeply on the virtues of selflessness, compassion, and obedience, which the season represents.
He noted that the commemoration offers an opportunity for spiritual renewal and a call to promote peace and unity within communities.
The Chief Whip further encouraged his constituents to imbibe the teachings of Christ by showing kindness to one another and supporting efforts aimed at building a more harmonious society.
Oyekola also prayed for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Oyo State and Nigeria at large, expressing hope that the lessons of Good Friday would inspire citizens toward collective development and mutual understanding.
