The leading Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Otunba Oluseye Opatoki, has extended his characteristic magnanimity to Muslim faithful across the state as the holy month of Ramadan drew to a close and the Eid-el-Fitri celebration commenced.
In a remarkable show of solidarity and generosity, Otunba Opatoki reached deep into his resources to distribute generous cash support and bags of rice to beneficiaries spread across all thirty-three (33) local government areas of Oyo State, ensuring that no community was left behind in the spirit of the season.
Speaking as the gesture was rolled out, Otunba Opatoki congratulated Muslims in Oyo State and across Nigeria on the successful completion of Ramadan, describing the season as a powerful reminder of compassion, sacrifice, and communal responsibility.
He urged Muslims and indeed all residents of Oyo State to carry the spirit of love and generosity beyond the festival season. “Let us share love not only during this celebration but in our daily lives. Let the values of Ramadan — patience, kindness, and giving — guide our actions long after the festivities are over,” he stated.
The governorship hopeful also called on Muslims and people of faith across the state to offer prayers for lasting peace, unity, and progress in Oyo State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria at large, emphasising that a peaceful society remains the foundation for meaningful development.
Otunba Opatoki’s gesture has been widely received as a demonstration of his deep connection to the grassroots and his commitment to the welfare of all Oyo citizens, irrespective of religion, tribe, or political affiliation — qualities his supporters say make him the right choice to lead the state come 2027.
