In a remarkable effort to support education and ease the financial burden on families, the Political Head Hon. Nureni Adesola Alade has distributed 200 free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to students across the council area.


In a release made available to Heritage Echo by the council acting information officer, Adekemi Olanlokun, the initiative, which took place at the Oyo South West LCDA secretariat, Akeetan, Oyo, was aimed at encouraging academic excellence and providing opportunities for deserving students to further their education in tertiary institutions.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, Hon. Nureni Alade emphasized the importance of education as a tool for societal transformation, noting that the gesture was aimed at alleviating the financial burden faced by many families in sponsoring their children’s academic pursuits.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to investing in education as a tool for community development. He noted that the distribution of the 200 JAMB forms was part of broader efforts to empower young people and reduce the number of out-of-school youths in the area.




According to him, providing access to examination forms is a crucial step toward enabling students to secure admission into tertiary institutions.
The council boss also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity by preparing diligently for the examination, stressing that the support comes with a responsibility to excel academically and make the council proud.

While admonishing the students, the Head of Local Government Administration, Sanitarian Popoola Rashidat, urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity.

She advised the students to remain focused on their studies and strive for excellence in the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.
According to her, “This gesture by Alade is a demonstration of his commitment to education and youth development,” Popoola said. “You must be good ambassadors of this local government and make us proud through outstanding performance and good conduct.”
Two parents who spoke during the event expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the chairman for the kind gesture. Mrs. Tajudeen Muibat whose daughter benefited from the initiative, described the support as timely and impactful.
“We are very grateful to the Political Head for remembering our children. This will reduce the financial pressure on many families and give our children a better future,” she said.
Another parent, commended the local government leadership for prioritizing education. He noted that the initiative would motivate students to take their studies more seriously and strive for success.
In attendance were the Secretary to the Political Head, Supervisory councillors, all Acting HOD, Unit Heads, NULGE Executives, and some members of the staff.
The event concluded with the official presentation of the JAMB forms to the students, who expressed excitement and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them by working hard to excel in their examinations.
