A respected Oyo-born distinguished Senator Monsurat Sunmonu on Saturday, led a delegation of Muslim clerics, comprising respected Alfas and Imams, on an inspection visit to the ongoing construction of the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Annex in Oyo town.

The inspection tour, which took place at the project site located within the premises of the State Hospital, Owode, Oyo, was aimed at assessing the level of progress and reaffirming community support for the critical healthcare initiative.

Addressing journalists shortly after the inspection, Sunmonu emphasized the importance of the project to the people of Oyo and its environs, noting that the annex would significantly improve access to quality healthcare services.

She commended the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the project, particularly the Oyo State Government, for prioritizing the health needs of residents through strategic infrastructure development.

The Senator also lauded the role of religious leaders in fostering unity and supporting developmental projects, stressing that their presence symbolized collective commitment to the success of the hospital annex.

According to her, the involvement of community and religious stakeholders remains vital in ensuring transparency, accountability, and sustained public trust throughout the construction process.

The project consultant, Hon. Arowosaye Saheed Adeyemi, popularly known as AROSAD and a former Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government, provided insights into the scope and progress of the project.

He explained that the construction of the annex is designed to complement existing healthcare facilities and expand service delivery to accommodate the growing population in Oyo and neighboring communities.

Arowosaye assured that work is progressing in line with approved standards and timelines, adding that quality and durability remain top priorities in the execution of the project.

He further noted that the project, when completed, would serve as a major boost to the healthcare sector in Oyo State, providing modern medical infrastructure and improving patient care outcomes.

Some of the clerics who participated in the visit offered prayers for the successful completion of the project, seeking divine guidance and protection for workers and stakeholders involved.

The inspection visit concluded with expressions of optimism from all parties, as the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Annex project continues to take shape as a landmark development in Oyo town.

In the entourage of the party Chieftain are; Alhaji Muideen Eyitayo, Mudakam Isiaq Asadilu Faidoh Ajagba, Ustaz Ismail Abdullahi, the executive Chairman of Oyo East, Hon. Oluokun Olusola Peters and several others.
