The Youth Wing of the Oyo Federal Constituency chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), named Oyo Federal Constituency PDP Youth Liberation Team, on Monday paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde Adetunji, at his conference room in the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.
The delegation was led by Comrade Opeyemi Rasheed, popularly known as Socrate, alongside other Youth stakeholders in the zone. The visit, according to the group, was aimed at strengthening ties between the party’s youth structure and the state government.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Rasheed said the PDP youths considered it necessary to formally engage the SSG in recognition of his role in coordinating government policies and ensuring effective implementation of the administration’s programmes across the state.
He noted that the youth wing remains a critical pillar of the party, adding that sustained interaction with key government officials would further inspire young party members to remain committed, disciplined, and focused on democratic ideals.
Rasheed reaffirmed the unwavering loyalty of PDP youths in Oyo Federal Constituency to the party and the present administration, stressing that the youths are ready to continue mobilising support at the grassroots in line with the vision of the Oyo State Government.
In his response, Professor Adetunji commended the youths for the initiative, describing their visit as a demonstration of political maturity and responsible engagement. He emphasised that the present administration places a high value on youth participation in governance and party affairs.
The SSG urged the youths to remain law-abiding, united, and committed to constructive politics, assuring them that their contributions to party growth and governance would not go unnoticed.
He further encouraged the youth wing to continue serving as ambassadors of peace and development, especially at the grassroots, where their influence remains significant.
The visit concluded with a mutual pledge to sustain collaboration between the PDP youth structure and the state government in advancing good governance, party cohesion, and inclusive development across Oyo State.
