A councillor in Oyo East Local Government Area, Hon. Ojelabi Ademola, has dismissed reports suggesting his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing the claims as unfounded and misleading.


Ojelabi, who represents Apinni Ward 5, stated that he remains a loyal and committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party, emphasizing that the party remains his political home.
“I have not defected to any political party. I remain a steadfast member of the PDP and I am proud to associate with my colleagues and party faithful who continue to work for the progress of our great party,” he stated.

The councillor reaffirmed his unwavering support for the leadership of Seyi Makinde, whom he described as a visionary leader committed to inclusive governance and people-oriented development in Oyo State.



He also pledged his continued loyalty to Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, praising her dedication, selfless service, and contributions to strengthening the party’s structure across the state.
According to Ojelabi, Sunmonu’s leadership has remained a source of inspiration and motivation to party members, noting that her commitment to the PDP’s ideals makes her a valuable asset to the party.

He expressed confidence that, under the combined leadership of Governor Makinde and Senator Sunmonu, the PDP would continue to record electoral successes in Oyo State and beyond.
“The PDP is my political home. I believe strongly that the party will continue to govern Oyo State and reclaim the presidency in 2027,” he added.
Ojelabi assured party members and supporters of his resolve to continue working tirelessly for the growth, unity, and success of the PDP at all levels.
