News reaching Heritage Echo Newsroom gathered that a residential building in Ogbomoso was ravaged by fire on Saturday.

The incident occurred at Main Spring Hospital Street, High School area, Ogbomoso.

Properties worth millions of naira were affected during the inferno.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.

Akinwande said, “Upon arrival, we met a room out of four (4) bedrooms engulfed by fire.

“We quickly swung into action and within a few minutes, we extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to the whole building. Stressing that a bi casualty was recorded.

Also, a 37-year-old man, whose identity is yet to be known, has been rescued from a well in Saki axis of Oyo State.

The man was rescued alive from the well in the Oke-Sebe area of Saki. The incident occurred on Saturday morning.

It was learnt that the man was given proper medical attention immediately after he was rescued by men of the Oyo State Fire Service.

Akinwande, confirmed the incident. He added that the man was rescued alive by his men.

According to him, “Upon arrival at 9:29 a.m., the officers quickly swung into action with the necessary rescue equipment and successfully removed the man from the well,”

The resident applauded the Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Engr ‘Seyi Makinde for providing state-of-the-art equipment to rescue the state fire service in responding to emergencies as well as saving the lives of the victims.

Equally, Akinwande advised the public to always understand that safety comes first and always.

He stressed that they should not hesitate to call the fire service whenever they need it.
