In a remarkable show of support for youth empowerment and creative development in Oyo State, three prominent personalities Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi, Hon. Dr. Dikko Salami, and Engr. Maruf Babatunde Ishola (Kukoyi) has collectively contributed meaningfully to the forthcoming Oyo Mix and Mic Battle Competition, an initiative of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development.

Their commitments were made during a series of courtesy visits by the committee responsible for the competition.

Adekanbi: “Creativity and Technology Are the New Pathways for Youth Advancement”

Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi, former Commissioner for Finance and a newly inducted member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, commended the organizers for conceptualizing an event that fosters creativity and innovation among young people.



According to him, initiatives such as the Mix and Mic Battle will “open the minds of young people, inspire genuine creativity, and motivate them to take ownership of their future.” He emphasized the role of technology in enhancing skills and livelihood, noting that modern youth must be encouraged to channel their abilities into productive ventures.
Adekanbi also applauded Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo, Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, describing him as “a visionary leader whose transformative, youth-centric initiatives have become widely acknowledged.” He further pledged to attend the grand finale, expressing his belief in any project that benefits the youth, Oyo State citizens, and humanity at large.

Dikko Salami: “Opportunities Given to Youth Build Communities”
The Sole Administrator of the Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services (PTS), Hon. Dr. Dikko Salami, also threw his weight behind the competition.
Salami widely regarded as one of the most dynamic young leaders in the state’s transport sector stressed the importance of giving young people platforms to express their talents.
“As a youth myself, I know the value of opportunities. If I weren’t given a chance, I wouldn’t be where I am today. So, whenever I see initiatives that allow young people to shine, I contribute wholeheartedly,” he said.
He commended Prince Falana for the significant progress recorded under his leadership at the Youth Development Agency, noting that communities thrive when young people are encouraged to excel. Salami wished the organizers a hitch-free and impactful competition.
Engr. Maruf Babatunde Ishola (Kukoyi): “Challenge the Young Generation to Greatness”
Another strong pillar of support came from Engr. Maruf Babatunde Ishola, popularly known as Kukoyi, is from Irepo Local Government.
Kukoyi praised the competition as a strategic effort to awaken the spirit of excellence in young people, saying:
“We must consistently challenge the youth to aim higher. If we don’t push ourselves toward greatness, mediocrity will persist. This competition will inspire young talents to grow, improve, and strive for excellence.”
He urged the committee to ensure transparency and quality delivery so that the best talents emerge and the event becomes memorable.
Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Prince Falana Adebowale Adebayo, expressed deep gratitude to the donors. He reaffirmed that the agency remains committed to advancing youth opportunities in alignment with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde.
According to him, Governor Makinde’s trust in young people continues to inspire new ideas and investments in youth-focused programs.
Prince Falana emphasized that the government alone cannot shoulder the burden of development, calling on more well-meaning individuals and organizations to join hands in supporting youth-centered initiatives.
Chairman of the Mix and Mic Battle Competition Committee, Mr. Oluwatosin Odita (King Zlo), appreciated all contributions and assured the public that the team is working tirelessly to deliver an event that will stand out in the history of youth entertainment competitions in Oyo State.
He noted that donations such as these “energize and motivate the committee to exceed expectations.”
