According to the reports reaching Heritage Echo Newsroom, an unexpected inferno razed the Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA) in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.


The fire incident occurred on Tuesday, at the Agency which is located at Total Garden, Ibadan.
According to the source, it was learnt that electrical sparks from a solar inverter control board on the upper floor of the building caused the fire.


Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the incident.



He said that no life was lost in the incident.
According to him, “Upon arrival, it was discovered that electrical sparks from the solar inverter control board on the upper floor of the building caused the fire.

“The swift response and professional intervention of our officers prevented the situation from escalating into a fire disaster. The use of portable fire extinguishers was employed during the firefighting operation.
“No casualty was recorded and properties worth millions of naira were saved by the fire service. The fire incident was a result of electrical sparks from the inverter system.
However, Hon. Akinwande strongly advised the public to always use correct cables and other electrical materials for their installation.
He also emphasized the importance of installing portable fire-fighting extinguishers in every building in the state for adequate prevention of fire incidents when they start.
