The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, paid a surprise visit to the headquarters of the Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services (PTS) at Eleyele, Ibadan shortly after commissioning the ultra-modern Ibadan Central Bus Terminal at Iwo Road.
During the surprise inspection, the Governor was warmly received by the Chairman and Sole Administrator of Pacesetter Transport Services, Hon. Dr. Salami Dikko, who conducted him around the facility to showcase the remarkable progress and infrastructural transformation achieved under his stewardship.
Governor Makinde, visibly impressed by the level of development at the agency, inspected 30 brand new Leyland buses acquired through a strategic partnership with the CEO of Leyland Nigeria.
The Governor also toured the ongoing CNG Gas Station construction site, being developed in collaboration with Atlas Core Limited, a project expected to revolutionize the state’s mass transit energy system.
In a historic moment, Governor Makinde officially launched the newly built “Engr. Seyi Makinde Terminal” within the Pacesetter complex.
The terminal boasts world-class facilities, including VVIP and VIP lounges, modern toilet facilities, a ticketing booth, a comfortable waiting area, and a car wash bay, all designed to enhance commuters’ experience and promote operational efficiency.
Speaking after the inspection, Governor Makinde commended Hon. Dr. Salami Dikko for his visionary and result-oriented leadership, describing him as “a shining example of commitment, innovation, and public service excellence.”
“I am proud of the transformation I’ve seen here today,” the Governor stated.
“Dr. Salami Dikko has done a remarkable job at Pacesetter Transport Services.
As I always say, the reward for hard work is more work. I assure him of my total support, any day, any time.”
Governor Makinde also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding all state-owned investments and public-private partnership projects initiated under his leadership, emphasizing that they were designed to serve the people of Oyo State for generations to come.
“We will continue to protect and sustain these investments so that the people of Oyo State can enjoy long-term benefits from the foundations we are laying today,” the Governor added.
Under Dr. Salami Dikko’s leadership, Pacesetter Transport Services has witnessed a new era of reform, modernization, and service expansion , aligning perfectly with the visionary transport master plan of the Seyi Makinde administration.
