The leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ido Local Government has expelled some party chieftains found guilty of gross misconduct and sustained anti-party activities, following several failed attempts at reconciliation.

In a statement issued after its leadership meeting held on Friday, October 31, 2025, the party said the decision was taken in the collective interest of unity, loyalty, and organizational discipline.
According to the statement, the expelled individuals had consistently undermined the PDP’s senatorial and House of Representatives candidates—Mogaji Joseph Tegbe and Hon. Yemi Taiwo—during the 2023 general elections, openly betraying the party and working against its success at the polls.

The expelled members include:

- Alhaji Nureni Adeoye (Ward 7)
- Alhaji Rasak Olatinwo (a.k.a. Elewedu, Ward 10)
- Alhaji Kasali Akande (Ward 7)
- Mrs. Taiwo Alabi (Ward 10, Former Women Leader)
- Alhaji Akanni Lawal (Ward 4)
- Mr. Nureni Adeyemi (Ward 4)
- Mr. Sunday Akanbi (Ward 4)
- Mr. Isiak Ijaoye
- Mr. Oluayo David Ololude
- Mr. Folarin Semiu
The party further stated that their known allies and followers, who remain unrepentant in similar acts of disloyalty, have also been expelled.
Before the final decision, the leadership had summoned the affected individuals multiple times for dialogue and reconciliation. However, they allegedly continued to receive financial and material inducements from opposition figures, including money and livestock during the last Ileya Festival, and more recently, funds and clothing items aimed at influencing members toward defection.

“The party cannot continue to condone acts that undermine its unity and electoral strength,” the statement read. “Their expulsion is to preserve the integrity and discipline that define the PDP in Ido Local Government.”
The leadership therefore cautioned the public and party members to desist from recognizing or engaging the expelled individuals as PDP representatives in any capacity.
Reaffirming its commitment to internal cohesion and progress, the Ido PDP declared that it remains focused on promoting loyalty, transparency, and genuine service to the people.
Signed:
People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ido Local Government
