The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole Local Government has commended its members and stakeholders for their steadfast commitment and the smooth inauguration of new ward executives across the ten wards of the council area.

The commendation came on the heels of the party’s first general meeting held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the PDP Secretariat, SABO, Idi Ayunre.

The meeting was described as a strong statement of unity and renewed purpose ahead of future political engagements.

In a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Public Relations Officer of the party in Oluyole, Mr. Ayo Shonaike, the meeting was further described as a “major step toward deepening internal democracy and strengthening the PDP structure at the grassroots.”

The well-attended meeting drew together notable leaders, party faithful, and key stakeholders, including the Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji; Honourable Commissioner for Works, Hon. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola; Member representing Oluyole Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Waheed Akintayo; Chairman, RUWASA, Alh. Waheed Afobaje; Special Assistant to the Governor, Hon. Olumide Akinlade; Former Commissioner, Engr. Ayuba Balogun; Former LG Chairmen, Hon. Lasunkanmi Salami and Hon. Kehinde Abore; and Hon. Olaide Settle, among many others.

The highlight of the event was the formal inauguration of the newly elected ward and local government executives, led by Alh. Nasir Hamzat, marking what leaders described as “a fresh chapter” for the PDP in Oluyole.

Engr. Akeem Olatunji congratulated all newly inaugurated executives, both at the local and ward levels, urging them to serve selflessly and in harmony.

He equally urged the new excos to work harmoniously and ensure that PDP continues to dominate in Oluyole LG as its political stronghold.

He emphasized that the strength of the PDP lies in its unity and collective discipline, noting that “Oluyole must continue to stand as a model of internal cohesion and political maturity.”

“This inauguration is not just about titles; it is about responsibility. Every one of us has a duty to make sure that the PDP remains a family where ideas flourish, and where every ward feels heard and represented.

“Our loyalty to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, is unwavering and total, and our commitment to good governance in Oyo State is stronger than ever.”

Olatunji however, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots development and ensuring dedication to the welfare of party members and leaders in the Council.

According to the statement, the new PDP Chairman in Oluyole, Hon. Nasir Hamzat, appreciated members for the confidence reposed in the new executives.

He promised to promote teamwork, transparency, and open communication within the party structure. Hamzat also directed ward chairmen to immediately inaugurate their ward-level executives and commence regular meetings for effective coordination.

The list of newly inaugurated ward chairmen includes:

  1. Saka Adebayo (Ward 1)
  2. Kehinde Ogunbowale (Ward 2)
  3. Oyinlola Oduola (Ward 3)
  4. Adisa Jelili (Ward 4)
