A former House of Representatives aspirant in the 2023 general elections in Oyo East, Oyo West, Atiba and Afijio Federal Constituency, Hon. Kehinde Gbade Oshin, (a.k.a OKG) has formally announced his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Oshin, known for his advocacy for youth inclusion and community development, made this known in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen on Monday.
He disclosed that his decision to leave the party followed a period of deep reflection on his political journey and the prevailing realities within the PDP both at the state and national levels.

According to him, I, Hon. Kehinde Gbade Oshin aka OKG, an aspirant of House Representative Member in the 2023 election for Oyo Federal Constituency, hereby officially inform the party in the Ward, Local Government, Federal Constituency, State and National Levels of my resignation as a member from the party with immediate effect.

“This decision was as a result of irreconcilable differences within the party at the National level, lack of discipline within the party as members are involved in anti-party activities openly, Oyo Federal Constituency is being controlled by one leader and finally failure of Mr, Governor to honor his promise made during the meeting held with him in Governor’s House and Government House to pick a consensus candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency.
“After much contemplation, I have come to the solemn conclusions that I can no longer, in good conscience, remain within a system that has strayed so far from its original purpose.

“Therefore, I am compelled to part ways with the PDP.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership of the PDP and his supporters for their unwavering belief in his vision and contributions over the years, adding that his exit was taken in the best interest of his political future and the people he represents.
“My decision to resign from the PDP was not an easy one. However, it became necessary after due consultations with my family, political associates, and supporters. I believe this step will enable me to continue my political engagements in a way that aligns with my convictions and the aspirations of my people,” Oshin stated.
While he did not immediately reveal his next political move, Oshin hinted at a renewed commitment to grassroots development and a continued dedication to the progress of Oyo State.
His resignation is coming amid speculations of internal disagreements and growing defections within the PDP across the state ahead of the next political cycle.
