According to the information reaching Heritage Echo Newsroom, a devastating inferno ravaged a residential building in the Oyo township axis of Oyo State.


The incident occurred on Wednesday 15th October, 2025, at the popular Aladota Oke – Olola community, Oyo Alaafin, in Atiba local government area, Oyo State.
Special adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform and Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident.

In a statement made available to Heritage Echo News, Akinwande said the officers were mobilized to the scene when they were informed, stressing that no casualty was recorded.




He said; The Agency’s Officers led by PFS 11 Makinde promptly deployed to the scene of the incident. Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, they met the last room right of an ancient residential building of ten (10) rooms on fire and we quickly swung into action and the fire was subdued and restricted from spreading to other rooms.
Akinwande further reiterated that the fire incident was a result of a spark from electricity and ignited combustible materials which set the room ablaze, stressing that no casualty was recorded, as properties worth millions of naira were saved.

He urged the public to be conscious of fire and emphasized the importance of having fire-fighting extinguishers in their respective buildings to prevent fire incidents when just start.
