The Oyo State Fire Service has confirmed that at least seven people were injured in a collision involving two trucks at Arinkinkin, in the Agric area of Ogbomoso.


Heritage Echo gathered that the two trucks caught fire after a head-on collision at the Arinkinkin area.
However, one of the trucks was reportedly loaded with grains while the other one was loaded with unidentified chemical substances.

Our correspondence gathered that the injured are currently receiving treatments at the popular Bowen Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso.




Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident in a statement made available to newsmen.
Akinwande further reiterated that vehicular movement has been restored on the road while daily activities have also resumed in the axis immediately.

He said, “The fire incident was reported at exactly 13:15hrs on Monday 15th September, 2025. The fire personnel led by CFM Oladejo Kola swiftly responded and deployed to the scene of the fire incident. Upon arrival, it was two trucks, one loaded with grains(maize) and the other with unidentified chemicals collided with each other, engulfed by fire.
“The Agency’s officers swiftly swung into action and curtailed the fire from spreading to the truck loaded with grains.
The fire was completely extinguished and it was only one with chemicals affected by the fire while the second truck was saved by the fire service.

“Seven male persons were rescued alive with minor injuries and taken to Bowen Teaching Hospital by Officers of Federal Road Safety Corps Ogbomoso Division for medical attention. The vehicular movement has been restored to the road and normal daily activities are usually in progress in the area.

Akinwande advised the public to be conscious of fire and he emphasized the importance of having fire service emergency lines handy.
He also urged drivers to always observe road safety tips and to keep fire extinguishers in their vehicles in case of a fire emergency.
