Lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency of Oyo State, Rep. Abass Adigun (Agboworin), on Friday, congratulated the Muslim faithful in the state on the occasion of the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) popularly known as the Eidul-Mawlid.

A statement by his Media Group in Ibadan, which was made available to journalists, quoted the lawmaker as congratulating Muslim faithful in the state and Nigeria on witnessing the 2025 Eidul-Maulid.

Agboworin, a two-term lawmaker and Chairman of House Committee on Narcotics, charged them to imbibe the spirit of love, patience, and perseverance, which according to him, are virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

He stated that this will guarantee peace and security in the state and the country as a whole.

He further enjoined Muslims to follow the teaching of the Holy Quran in Chapter 4 Verse 59, which says: “O you who believe! Obey God and obey the Messenger, and those from among you who are vested with authority; and if you are to dispute among yourselves about anything, refer it to God and the Messenger, if indeed you believe in God and the Last Day. This is the best (for you), and fairest in the end.”

Agboworin also used the occasion to admonish all stakeholders in the state to work towards restoring lasting peace in the state, noting that it is everyone’s responsibility to make Oyo State peaceful and progressive.
