…set to empower widows across units in Ward 04

In a strategic move ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward congresses in Oyo State, prominent party leaders, former commissioner for Environment and natural resources, Barrister Idowu Oyeleke, and Oyo State PDP legal adviser, Barrister Waheed Gbadegesin, paid a consultative visit to PDP Ward 04 in Atiba Local Government Area on Monday.

The visit at the weekly Ward meeting on Monday, drew a sizable gathering of party faithful and community leaders, was aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilization, unity within the party, ensuring aggrieved members remain in the party with a notion of getting democratic dividends, ensuring decamped member to ADC return back to PDP and reaffirming support for the administration of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde.


Addressing the ward members, Barr. Idowu Oyeleke commended the dedication and unity of the PDP family in Atiba Ward 04, emphasizing the importance of cohesion as the party prepares for its internal elections.



He reiterated the critical role of grassroots structures in sustaining the achievements of the Makinde-led administration.
“We are here today not only to interact with our members but to ensure unity of purpose, ministering into the minds of the aggrieved members to stay in PDP as the only party with the milk of human kindness. Also, to remind everyone of the progress Oyo State has witnessed under Governor Makinde, now more than ever, we must stay united and committed to the ideals of the PDP as we approach the ward congress. Your continued support is what keeps the engine of development running.”


The former commissioner for Environment and natural resources, Oyeleke, assured the member that he is under the directive of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde, who is the number one leader of the party in Pacesetter State, stressing that he remains a member of PDP till eternity.
While appreciating the appointees from the Ward level (councilors, Supervisory councilors, and Special Assistants), he urged them not to relent in putting smiles on the faces of the party members.

Oyeleke also used the medium to inform the gathering on his empowerment of the widows across units in Ward 04, urging the Ward executives to collate their names accordingly.
Echoing his sentiments, Barr. Gbadegesin praised the governor’s performance in key areas such as infrastructure, agribusiness, education, healthcare, and security, noting that the success of the PDP at the state level is largely rooted in the support it enjoys from the wards.
“We must recognize that leadership starts at the grassroots,” Gbadegesin remarked.
According to him, Ward 04 has always been a pillar of strength for the PDP, and we are here to encourage you to sustain that energy. Governor Makinde’s administration is people-oriented, and we must continue to rally behind him.
He used the medium to express the wheel of unity embarked upon by the State leadership of the party in ensuring that all aggrieved members reconcile, stay within the party, and work for the progress of the party.
“This is part of wider consultations by PDP leaders across the state, aimed at consolidating internal party structures and ensuring a smooth and peaceful atmosphere within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections”.
Several speakers commended the August visit, while assuring transparent, peaceful ward congresses and reiterated their readiness to work for the party’s continued dominance in the state.
In conclusion, Party stakeholders at the event expressed appreciation for the visit and pledged their unflinching loyalty to the PDP and the current state leadership of the party led by Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke.
Leaders in attendance were; Ward vice chairman Ajani Kabiru, Olawale Kafayat (Secretary), Raheem Ismaila Olohun (Ward organizing Secretary), Odewalw Johnson (Ward PRO), Adeniran Yisahu (Ward Youth leader), Mukaila Iyabo (Ward women leader) and several party members.
