In a resounding show of support, the Sooro Political Head, Hon. Badmus Olaide, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Senator Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu on her recent appointment as a member of the 2025 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Convention Planning Committee.

In a statement released and made available to newsmen on Friday morning, the council head described Senator Monsurat as a beacon of integrity, leadership, and dedication to public service.

Hon. Badmus lauded her recognition by the party at the national level as both timely and well-deserved.

He noted that her inclusion in such a high-stakes committee not only reflects her political acumen but also reaffirms her enduring relevance in the Nigerian political landscape.

“Senator Monsurat has always been a role model — not just for women in politics but for all who believe in purposeful leadership,” Hon. Badmus stated.

“Her consistent track record of service, advocacy for inclusive governance, and grassroots connection make her a valuable asset to the PDP at this critical moment.”

Senator Monsurat, a former Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly and distinguished Senator has long been regarded as one of the most respected voices in the state’s political sphere.

Her appointment to the committee places her at the forefront of preparations for the PDP’s pivotal 2025 National Convention, expected to shape the party’s direction ahead of the next general elections.

Hon. Badmus emphasized that the people of Sooro and the wider Oyo community take great pride in Senator Monsurat’s accomplishments, viewing her success as a shared victory and an inspiration for the next generation of leaders.

“We are proud to stand behind a woman whose principles, experience, and leadership continue to open doors for others,” he concluded.
