A petroleum tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), known as Petroleum, has tumbled in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Wednesday at Jin-Jofes Filling Station, Iwo Road, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Sources close to the incident stated that a DAF trailer tanker with registration number T17657LA (Lagos) of 50,000 litres capacity loaded with Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) skidded off the road to the nearby gutter and the contents gushed out.
It was learnt that the men of the Oyo State Fire Service were informed immediately after the incident.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident to Heritage Echo.
According to him, “The fire incident was reported at exactly 20:07hrs on Wednesday, 6th August 2025, through a telephone call, and Mr. Adisa Kazeem reported a trailer tanker accident at the above address.
“The Agency’s Officers, led by ACFS Aden, Iyi Adesina, promptly deployed to the scene of the incident.
“On getting there, it was a DAF trailer tanker with registration number T17657LA (Lagos) of 50,000 litres capacity loaded with Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), skidded off the road to the nearby gutter, and the contents gushing out.
The Firemen quickly blanketed the spillage with chemical foam compound to neutralize the flammability of the content from catching fire from the surrounding.
However, the accident was a result of loss of control while the driver was trying to navigate the road bend. The driver and the motor boy were rescued alive, while the latter sustained minor injury on his shoulder and was carried to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
The situation has been calmed down and the normal daily activities have been restored back on the road.
