Oyo Fire Services has responded to the Petroleum tanker, also known as Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) accident in the Ogbomoso axis of the State.


Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred at Alagbayun Areas, Odo-Oba, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
However, the tanker, with registration number BAU 586ZE, loaded with a 45,000-liter capacity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), swerved across the road and spilled its contents.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the incident in our correspondence.



According to him, “On Monday, 21st July 2025, at exactly 17:37hrs, the emergency was reported through telephoning and Mr Adeolu to the petrol tanker accident at the address mentioned above.
“By 17:38hrs, fire tanker, PFS11 Oluwaleye in charge, left for the scene, and on getting to the scene of the accident, we met a Howo trailer tanker with regd. No BAU 586ZE loaded with a 45,000-liter capacity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) swerved across the road and contents gushed out.

“Immediately, we swung into action by blanketing the area with a foam chemical compound to neutralize the flammability of the content and prevent any imminent fire from surrounding.
The truck has been cleared off the road and normal vehicular movement is going on on the road.
However, the accident was due to a mechanical fault in the engine compartment.
