Properties Worth Millions of Naira have been destroyed by a fire that ravaged some shops in Iseyin township, Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State.
Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred at Sawmill Area, Abaletu, Saki road, Oyo State.
The Chairman of Oyo State Fire Service Reform/Agency, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande confirmed the incident to our correspondence.
He said; “the fire incident was reported at exactly 03:54hrs on Monday 23rd June, 2025 through a running caller on fire at the above stated address.
“Immediately the address was received, the firemen led by ACFS Azeez swiftly deployed to the scene of the incident, and on arrival, we met three (3) shops already engulfed by fire.
“The Firemen quickly swung into action and we were able to curtail it from spreading to other shops.
Only three (3) shops were affected, and the Fire Service was able to save the remaining seven (7) shops and other nearby properties.
However, the result of the nonchalant attitudes of a phone repairer who failed to switch off and unplugged one of his equipment after closing work in the evening, and ignited nearby combustible materials.
