The family, friends, and political associates of the Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo federal Constituency, Late Alhaji Ademola Yekeen Santos Aremu, came together on Sunday, to hold a one-year remembrance prayer by an Islamic cleric in his honour.


The one-year special remembrance prayer was held this morning at the deceased’s residence, Mobolaje areas, Oyo township.
Late Ademola Santos, until his demise, was an Ex-officio member of the Southwest Zonal of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The remembrance prayer was a poignant occasion, marked by reflections on his life, legacy, and contributions to his community.


However, the remembrance prayer was attended by a wide range of individuals, including family members, Islamic clerics, political colleagues, and friends.



A series of Qur’an verses was recited for the deceased, praying for his afterlife in Aljanat fridaus and giving the family the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss a year after, like yesterday.
Also, during the prayer, tributes were paid to Santos’s memory, highlighting his achievements, contributions to the community, Oyo Federal Constituency, Pacesetter State, and the void left by his sudden passing a year ago.

His family and associates expressed their commitment to continuing his work and upholding the values he stood for, emphasizing the lessons he imparted and the inspiration he provided to others.

Also, in a telephone conversation with our correspondence the erstwhiile Chairman of Oyo East local government and CEO AROSAD Properties and Consultancy Services, Hon. Alhaji Arowosaye Saheed Adeyemi pays tribute to the deceased stressing that one-year remembrance prayer was not only a moment to mourn but also an opportunity to celebrate Ademola Santos’s life and legacy.

“Late Santos was my Father, a confidant, chieftain of our great party, PDP. The vacuum left behind remains a great task to me; his legacy speaks volumes.
“Today marks one year since we lost Alhaji Abdul-Yakeen Ademola Santos and we know you’re hurting just as we are. Without you, our lives feel a little less bright. Thinking of you and yours during this time. We love you and are missing you, “Great leader,” he stated.

The gathering of family, friends, and political associates underscored the respect and admiration he earned during his lifetime, his position in Oyo federal constituency, southwestern politics, and Nigeria in particular.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the deceased’s first Son, Mr. Ademola Adesina, prayed for eternal rest for his father, saying Allah should forgive him his shortcomings and grant him Aljanat fridaus.

Equally, the remembrance prayer for Late Ademola Santos served as a fitting tribute to his memory, honoring his contributions and the impact he had on those who knew him and the family he left behind.
