Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in a fire incident at a three bedroom residential building in Oyo township.


Heritage Echo gathered that the incident occurred on Friday, 13th June 2025, at Olope’s House, Boroboro Area, Oyo, Oyo township.
No casualty was recorded but properties worth millions of naira were destroyed as firefighters swiftly contained the blaze.

In a nutshell, Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Akinwande confirmed the incident to our correspondence.




He, however stated that; “On Friday 13th June, 2025 at exactly 14:12hrs, a fire incident was reported through the running caller and Mr Qozeem Alakitan to house on fire at the above stated address.
“The fire personnel led by CFM Atanda promptly deployed to the scene of the incident and on getting there, it was a living room of a private residential building of three ( 3) bedrooms flat burning. We swiftly engaged our fighting appliances and dosed the fire and restricted it from affecting other parts of the building.

No casualty was recorded ,slight damage to the sitting room and millions of properties were saved by the officers of the Agency.

The fire incident was as a result of charging the Power bank unattended.
Equally, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Services Agency Reform/Chairman Hon. Moroof Akinwande, specifically warned people against the dangers associated with procuring substandard electrical and electronics appliances in our homes.
He also, charged the public to inculcate the habit of switching off and unplugged any appliance when not in use in order to avert imminent fire outbreak on our environment.
