As Nigeria marks Democracy Day, the Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has extended warm felicitations to the residents of the local government, urging them to uphold the ideals of democratic governance.

In his Democracy Day message released on Thursday, Hon. Adeojo described June 12 as a significant date in Nigeria’s history, symbolizing the struggles and sacrifices made by heroes of democracy to secure the freedom and rights currently enjoyed by citizens.
“Today, we commemorate the resilience, courage, and sacrifice of those who fought to enthrone democratic governance in our country,” the Chairman said. “Democracy remains the bedrock of freedom, justice, and equality, and as we celebrate this important day, I urge all residents of Ido Local Government to reflect on these values and renew their commitment to the democratic process.”

Hon. Adeojo emphasized the importance of unity, active civic participation, and vigilance in safeguarding the democratic gains achieved over the years. He called on citizens to continue working together towards building a prosperous, peaceful, and progressive Ido Local Government.



“Our strength lies in our unity, our progress in our collective effort, and our future in our unwavering dedication to democratic ideals,” he stated.
The Chairman also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to people-centered governance and sustainable development that will improve the well-being of all residents.

“Together, we will continue to make Ido Local Government a shining example of progress, good governance, and accountable leadership,” Hon. Adeojo assured.
As Nigeria continues to consolidate its democracy, the Chairman prayed for continued peace, stability, and prosperity for the local government, Oyo State, and the nation at large.
