Properties Worth Millions of Naira have been destroyed due to a fire that ravaged a duplex residential building in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, 10th June 2025, at Plot 20 Oluyole Extension Adjacent Total Petrol Station , Oluyole, Ibadan.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform/Agency Chairman, Hon. Akinwande confirmed the incident to our correspondence.
He said; On Tuesday 10th June, 2025 , a distressed call was reported at exactly 19:20hr, to house on fire at the above address.
“Fire personnel led by ACFS Adekola quickly deployed to the scene of the incident. On getting there, it was the Air-conditioning system in the sitting room at the upper floor of a duplex building burning”.
“We quickly extinguished the fire and curtailed it from affecting other properties in the building”.
The cause of the fire was as a result of high voltage which led to overheating of the Air-conditioning system and caught fire.
Nobody was affected by the fire incident and the Agency’s personnel were able to save properties worth millions of naira.
The Agency Chairman Hon. Akinwande, commiserates with the owner of the building. He charged the public to always handle electrical appliances with extra care and follow the manufacturer’s manual to avoid incessant electrical fires in our communities.
