Sodiq Ibrahim’s brace, Alex Aghahowa’s long range goal and Tijani Kabiru’s three assists propelled Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan to a resounding 5-1 win over old rivals Rangers International of Enugu as the coach Gbenga Ogunbote tutored Stars rounded off the 2024/25 season on a winning note.

The Matchday 38 encounter played behind closed doors at the Lekan Salami Stadium, saw the Oluyole Warriors record their biggest win of the season and completed the double over the Flying Antelopes.

After Sodiq Ibrahim scored the opener in the second minute, firing home after controlling a cross by skipper Gali Falke, the Ibadan soccer lords missed numerous scoring chances until the visitors equalised in the 43rd minute through Usman Bashir, thus ending the first half 1-1.

Sodiq Ibrahim scored his eight goal of the season, restoring Shooting Stars’ lead in the 51st minute, having arrived on time to slash home Joshua Akpan’s cross.

Tijani Kabir thereafter, pulled a star performance, providing the assists for Gbolagade Adelowo, Alex Aghahowa and Joshua Akpan to hit the target.

Adelowo nodded home the third in the 64th minutes before Alex Aghahowa scored the fourth goal, in a spectacular fashion, four minutes later, while Joshua Akpan completed the rout in the 71st minute with a header.

With the victory, the Oluyole Warriors ended the season with 54 points from 38 matches, finishing eight on the log.
