The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has launched the second phase of the solar street light project, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to enhancing security and improving public lighting across the local government area.

The official launch took place yesterday at the Ibadan North Council Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, in the presence of key stakeholders, council officials, and community representatives.

It is worth recalling that the first phase of the project was launched in September last year, with solar street lights distributed across all 12 wards of Ibadan North Local Government.

The initiative was designed to illuminate communities and enhance security across the area.

Hon. Olufade reiterated that the second phase would expand the reach of solar-powered street lights, ensuring adequate lighting in all wards to improve safety, security, and night-time economic activities.

The event was attended by several notable government officials and stakeholders, including:

  • Hon. Taiwo Adebola – Leader of the House
  • Hamdy Mustapha – Chief of Staff to the Chairman
  • Alhaji Tajudeen Olanrewaju – Head of Local Government Administration
  • Mrs. Olusola Ejiade – Director of Administration and General Services
  • Mrs. Bolatito Ogungbayi – Deputy Director of Administration and General Services
  • Mrs. Funke Folusho Lala – Information Officer
  • Head of media to the chairman, Aderibigbe Yisahu
  • Councilors from various wards
  • Supervisory Councilors
  • Special Assistants

The distribution of the solar street lights commenced immediately after the launch, with various wards benefiting from the initiative.

Hon. Olufade reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructural development and security improvement, promising to continue implementing people-oriented projects that will uplift the lives of residents in Ibadan North Local Government.

Signed,
