The Oyo State Fire Service, under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, has once again demonstrated its swift response and effectiveness in combating fire incidents, as it successfully brought under control two separate fires in Ibadan, today.
According to the release made available to Heritage Echo Correspondence today, the Fire Service team responded promptly to a distress call to contain the blaze and prevent loss of life or major damage besides Bite More Eatery Montana, Ibadan, an acre of virgin land with refuse, bush, and undergrowth burning threatened all the nearby buildings and properties within the vicinity.
The fire was curtailed from spreading to all the nearby structures.

In his reactions at the scene, the OIC person of ACFS Oyedeji advised the public to desist from the habit of setting bush, refuse, and forest on fire, particularly during this Harmattan, to prevent losing properties to a devastating fire.


Equally, the second incident occurred at Xander Mall, Orita Challenge, Ibadan, the State Capital respectively.
The crew led by ACFS Oyedeji, explained the cause of the fire at Xander Mall Orita Challenge and was traced to be electric sparks ignited by combustibles during the welding operation by the Artisan (Welder) at the premises. No casualty was recorded, properties worth millions were destroyed by fire, and the mall properties were saved by the officers of the agency.

In both incidents, the Fire Service’s rapid response and professionalism ensured that the fires were brought under control, minimizing damage and preventing any loss of life.
However, the Oyo Fire Service Agency Chairman, Hon. Akinwande, praised his team’s efforts, saying, “Our firefighters have once again demonstrated their bravery and expertise in responding to emergencies. We remain committed to protecting lives and property in Oyo State.”

He urged residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent fire Incidents, noting that the Oyo State Fire Service has reinforced its reputation as a reliable and efficient emergency response agency, assuring the public of its capability to handle fire incidents promptly and effectively.

It could be recalled that on Sunday, January 5th, 2025, the agency responded swiftly to prevent a disaster in four different locations in Ibadan; however, no life was lost, and properties worth millions were saved.
