In a remarkable display of professionalism and dedication, the Oyo State Fire Service, under the leadership of Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, has successfully contained multiple fire incidents in the Oke-Itunu Mokola area, Olopometa, Montana area, and Apata respectively, saving countless lives and properties.
The fire incidents, which occurred in quick succession, were successfully contained by the Oyo Fire Service team, preventing what could have been catastrophic damage to properties and loss of lives.

This, however, demonstrated its commitment to protecting lives and properties.

While speaking after his team responded to the incident, Hon. Moroof Akinwande acknowledged that the designated personnel to the scene was led by ACFS Ademola to curtail the incident.


While given detailed information, ACFS Ademola said, ” On getting there, we met an ancient residential building well alight, and we quickly swung into operation. The fire was brought under control within three minutes and restricted from affecting the nearby buildings”.

“No casualty was recorded, properties worth millions were destroyed, and billions of properties were saved by the officers of the Agency. He affirmed.
It was learned that the root causes of the fire incident were traced to a lady cooking with domestic gas in the kitchen and leaving it unattended, which resulted in the explosion.

Also, at Olopometa, Montana area, Ibadan, the fire incident was a result of a can of gas inside the room unattended to and ignited nearby combustibles and set the whole building ablaze.
CFS Ogunkanbi (OIC) sensitized the public on the correct handling of fire, particularly during this Harmattan season.

Equally, the fire service is seriously compacting another ongoing fire outbreak at Apata. The address is behind Lafia Hotel Adubi Layout, BCJ Apata, Ibadan.
The fire service has been at the forefront of fire prevention and response efforts in the State, working tirelessly to protect lives and properties.
