The newly appointed Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Oyo State on Fire Service Reforms and Chairman of the Oyo Fire Service Agency, Oyo State, Hon. Moruf Akinwande, has officially resumed office today amidst cheers and applause from staff members of the agency.
Akinwande, a former Parliamentarian representing Oyo East, West, Atiba, and Afijio Federal Constituency and former Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation, was appointed by Governor Seyi Makinde as the Chairman of the Fire Services Agency of Oyo State.
However, his resumption was met with enthusiasm by the General manager, directors of operations, planning and research, administration and supplies, and all member Staff staff, who expressed confidence in his leadership and expertise.
Hon. Akinwande, while addressing the staff, commended His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE for his dual appointment as Special Adviser, on fire service Reforms and the state fire service agency, promised to work tirelessly to ensure that the agency delivers on its mandate of restructuring, providing effective fire services to the people of Oyo State. Stressing that his work is to provide fire protection, educate the public on fire safety, identify potential fire hazards and emergency medical services, and build community outreach with fire safety education.
While assuring the staff members adequate welfare, Hon Akinwande reiterates that prioritizing staff welfare provides necessary resources and support to excel in their various duties.
The staff, in turn, assured Hon. Akinwande of their cooperation and support, promising to work diligently to achieve the agency’s goals and objectives.
The resumption of Hon. Akinwande as Chairman of the Oyo Fire Service Agency marks a new chapter in the agency’s history, and staff members are optimistic about the future prospects of the agency under his leadership.
