Hon. Gbenga Joseph Oyekola, the Chief Whip of the 10th Assembly and a member representing Atiba State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, has lauded the Chairmen of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, and the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Pastor Akinade Alamu, for conducting a hitch-free recruitment exercise.

The exercise aimed to fill teaching positions in primary and secondary schools across the state.

Oyekola, a two-term lawmaker representing Atiba State Constituency, expressed satisfaction with the seamless and transparent process, which resulted in the recruitment of qualified teachers to boost the education sector in Oyo State.

He acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the SUBEB and TESCOM Chairmen in ensuring a smooth exercise.

“The recruitment exercise was conducted in a very transparent and professional manner,” Oyekola said.

“I commend the Chairmen of SUBEB and TESCOM for their dedication to ensuring that the best candidates were selected for the positions.

This is a significant step towards improving the quality of education in Oyo State.”

Oyekola, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Environment, Ecology and Water Resources, Chairman of Ethics and Privileges, Vice Chairman of Finance, Appropriation and Budget, and Vice Chairman of Public Accounts, further reiterated that the exercise is a key component of the state government’s efforts to revitalize the education sector.

The exercise aimed to fill existing vacancies in primary and secondary schools and ensure that students receive quality education.

Oyekola urged the newly recruited teachers to be dedicated and passionate about their work, saying, “Our children deserve the best education, and it is our responsibility as stakeholders to ensure that they receive it.”

The lawmaker also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his commitment to education and his support for the recruitment exercise.

“The governor’s dedication to education is evident in the investments he has made in the sector,” Oyekola said.

“We are grateful for his leadership and vision.”
