In a thrilling finale, Vipers FC clinched the top spot in the 2nd edition of the Fastlane Soccer Championship, defeating their arch-rivals, Tottenham FC, in a nail-biting match viaenalty.


The tournament organized by a renowned philanthropist Hon. Amb. Ogunniyi Akinyemi Olaoluwa (Fastlane), under the grassroots sport developer, kicked off on Wednesday, 2nd October 2024 saw different teams battling it out for the coveted title, played over two weeks with Vipers FC dominating the group stages and setting up a thrilling finale against a renowned Tottenham FC at Durbar Stadium, Oyo.
Slogging it out yesterday at the ground finale, at Durbar stadia, the match lived up to its billing, with both teams creating scoring chances in the first half. However, the second half saw both teams scoring 1 – 1 full-time (90 minutes).


The center referee moves straight to the penalty, where Vipers FC scores 9 – 6 against Tottenham FC.
It could be recalled that the third place encountered was between Spectrum FC and Dway Up FC, where Dway Up FC clinched the third position.
While speaking with the newsmen, the Vipers FC coach added that the victory was a testament to his team’s determination and teamwork. He praised his players for their hard work and dedication.
“This victory is a result of our team’s collective effort and commitment to excellence,” he said. “We deserved the win, and I’m proud of every one of my players.”

Vipers FC’s triumph earned them the coveted Fastlane Soccer Championship trophy and a cash prize of N1 million, second position Tottenham FC clinched Five Hundred thousand (#500,000.00k) and the third team awarded Three Hundred thousand naira (#300,000.00k).
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the competition was also awarded for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.
