In his bid to enhance security and surveillance in Oyo Southwest Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Oyo State, the Political Head/Administrator, Alhaji (Hon.) Nureni Adesola Alade, has donated two Bajaj motorcycles to the local vigilante groups.
The donation, which was presented at a ceremony held at the LCDA secretariat, Ojongbodu, on Wednesday, is part of the council’s effort towards supporting the vigilance groups in their quest to ensure the safety of lives and properties in the area.
Hon. Alade, while presenting the motorcycles, commended the vigilantees for their tireless efforts in maintaining law and order within the council area.
While assuring them of the council’s continued support in their quest to ensure peace and security in the area, Hon. Alade promised to make life more bearable for the masses and the downtrodden within the council area, taking cognizance of the prevailing economic situation in the country.
In his remarks, the acting HLGA Mr. Adeola Oduola applauded the LCDA’s Political Head/Administrator, Alhaji Hon. Nureni Alade, for his commitment to the sustainability of security surveillance, as well as the welfare of staff in the council area, while
lauding the vigilantees for their dedication and selflessness in serving the community. “Together, we shall continue to ensure the safety and well-being of our citizens,” he assured.
The Officer in charge of the vigilante group, Mr. Samuel Kayode, who received the motorcycles on behalf of his team, thanked the council boss for the gesture, promising to make good use of them to enhance their surveillance activities.
This donation by Honourable Alade is seen as a significant boost to the security architecture of Oyo Southwest LCDA and a testament to the council’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizenry.
It will be recalled that Oyo West Local Government Chairman, Hon.(Prince) Akeem Salam Olukitibi had earlier on the same day released seven units of Bajaj motorcycles, which he had earlier procured on behalf of the Council, to security agencies, like the Police, NDLEA, NSCDC and Immigration, with the LCDA under the Council receiving two, while the last one is retained at the Main Council.
