The Education Secretaries across the 33 local governments in Oyo State have united to enhance service delivery in the elementary education sector.
The meeting held at Atiba local government Chairman’s conference room, Offa-meta, Oyo, Oyo State had in attendance all education secretaries across the 33 council area in Pacesetter state.
Speaking during the monthly meeting, Atiba local government education secretary, Mr. Salam Wasiu Adewale, appreciated the presence of his colleagues at the Royal Council, stating that the ideology is to bring together education secretaries from various zones to discuss strategies for improving efficiency in the education sector most especially elementary education.
According to him, the notion behind this local government by local government monthly meeting is to bring innovative approaches to improving service delivery, expressing the need for collaboration and teamwork to improve education outcomes across the council areas, which aligned with the sustainable development governance of His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE.
He commended the executive Chairman of Atiba local government, Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem for his supportive spirit in promoting elementary education at the grassroots. Stressing that his leadership has been instrumental in recording productive service delivery at the Royal Council.
While lauding the council Mayor, Mr. Salam added that his leadership has been instrumental in bringing about positive change and commitment to education is helping to shape the minds of our future generations. His insightful administrator has helped to improve access to quality education, particularly in underserved communities, which is commendable and has not gone unnoticed.
Also speaking, the forum Chairman, who doubles as the Ido local government education secretary, Comrade Bukola Mumini Adigun, explained the reason for launching such forum meetings among the members aimed to bring collaboration and teamwork to improve education outcomes in Pacesetter state.
According to him, we discussed ways to improve productivity and efficiency, enhance teacher training and development programs to boost student outcomes and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise.
The forum, however, hailed the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Chairman, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, for his exceptional leadership and dedication to improving basic education in Pacesetter State.
Dr. Adeniran’s commitment to education and his community has earned him widespread recognition and respect; under his guidance, SUBEB has implemented various initiatives to enhance the quality of education, including teacher training programs, infrastructure development, and student support services.
