Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has sworn in the newly elected chairmen of the 23 local government areas in the state.
According to newsbreakNaija reports, the swearing Ceremony, which kicked off at exactly 4 pm on Sunday, follows the victories of the chairmen-elect at Saturday’s Local Government Council elections held across the state.
The ceremony which was held at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, saw 22 chairmen from the Action Peoples Party (APP) and one from the Action Alliance
(AA) officially inaugurated into office.
Governor Fubara congratulated the new chairmen and charged them to see their victory at the polls as a call to duty and not personal enrichment.
The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, joined other dignitaries in the ceremony.
