The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has donated ₦1 million to the victims of the recent inferno at Gbaremu Market in Ward 8.

The devastating fire incident had left several shops in ruins, causing significant losses to the traders.

Hon. Olufade made the donation yesterday during his visit to the scene to sympathize with the affected shop owners.

The victims expressed their gratitude, appreciating the chairman’s presence and his timely financial support.

During the visit, Mr. Akeem Olatunji, the Head of Local Government Administration of Ibadan North Local Government, also sympathized with the victims.

He noted that Hon. Olufade had just resumed from his official leave and prioritized the visit as his first official duty.

“Despite having numerous issues to attend to, the chairman insisted on visiting the scene first,” Mr. Olatunji said.

The representatives of the Babaloja who were there to receive the chairman are Oloye Lawal Mojeed and Oloye Wasiu Adebayo.

Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade was accompanied by a notable delegation, including the Chief of Staff of Ibadan North Local Government, Hamdy Mustapha; Oyo State PDP Youth Leader, Hon. Michael Ogunsina; Ward 8 PDP Chairman, Otunba Adegboyega; Ward 8 Councilor, Hon. Seye Adepoju; former Caretaker Chairman of Aare Latosa LCDA, Hon. Jossy; and several others, such as Hon. Olowolayemo, Hon. Muyiwa, Abdulazeez Hafeez, Hon. Ogundele Tope Ishola, Hon. Oladejo Babatunde Adebayo, Aderibigbe Yisahu, and Afolabi Ayodamope.

The visit and the donation brought a sense of relief to the affected traders, highlighting the chairman’s dedication to the welfare of his constituents.
